Treats
October 10th, 2008 / No commentsGot off work and went uptown to my fitting for the Blooingdale’s Fashion Show. I was SO CLOSE to bailing, just wasn’t in the mood to feel all chubby and thick in fancy clothes. But man, there’s such a magic to Bloomingdale’s that I don’t feel at any other department store in New York. Macy’s feels too discount, Lord & Taylor is so stuffy and outdated, and SAKS is beautiful but too museum-like (nothing feels attainable or real). But Bloomingdale’s is just perfect, all swanky and cosmopolitan, and as soon as I got there I felt excited. They’re putting me in John Varvatos! I have 2 outfits and I have to say… I look good in them. They guy who picked them out for me has great taste and fortunately, everything was in a size I didn’t have to squeeze into. I’m actually kind of excited for the show now.
After the fitting I was all happy and smiley and wandered into Dylan’s Candy Bar, where I went nuts on sour patches, cinnamon fireballs, rootbeer gumdrops, and swedish fish. Not a smart purchase when my fat ass is about to walk a runway but still, it was so fun shopping. You can’t just observe the energy @ Dylan’s, you have to partake.
Bought some cute shoes @ ALDO and some cargo’s @ H&M, and made my way back across town… sucking lots of sweets all along the way.

Swooning for Scotty
October 8th, 2008 / No commentsI’ve been watching too much “Brothers & Sisters”. Sometimes I sit and wonder what they’re doing, like they’re a real family. And Kevin Walker isn’t good enough for Scotty. Not in any way.
I need to stop this.

AVE Q
October 2nd, 2008 / No commentsWent to see “Avenue Q” again tonight. This is like, the 4th time I’ve seen the show. I took Dana from work, she’s so adorable. Went to a cocktail party @ Gallagher’s before hand and totally misplaced out tickets, but we still got to go. So much fun. ”There’s a Fine, Fine Line” will always get me a little bit teary eyed, even when it’s being sung by a furry puppet.
